Diablo 4 Season 12, Season of Slaughter, officially launched on March 11, 2026. If you're still undecided about which class to play this season, this guide will help you make your choice.

This article ranks the relative strengths of various classes in the game. You can choose your favorite class and begin your rampage. There's also a major variable this season: Butcher. During certain events, you can transform into a Butcher through specific methods. This ranking will not discuss this aspect.Diablo 4 Season 12 Class Tier List: Who is the King of Season of Slaughter?

The highest tier is S-tier, and the lowest is F-tier, with classes at each tier. This is just a relative ranking within Diablo 4 Season 12. Even an F-tier class doesn't necessarily mean it's weak; they are all worth trying.

This ranking primarily considers four aspects of each class: leveling experience, monster-killing speed, Torment 4 difficult content, pit-pushing ability, and boss fight ability. Therefore, a true S-tier class is defined as one that possesses multiple excellent builds across all four classes.

Now, let's take a look at this ranking.

Tier F: Necromancer

Some might ask, why is Necromancer ranked in Tier F? Firstly, because leveling from 1 to 60 is very difficult. However, it's undeniable that Necromancer has some very good builds, making her suitable for boss fights.

Secondly, it's about Necromancer's speed. In speed farming, she lags far behind other classes. In Diablo 4 Season 12, due to the existence of Killstreaks, speed is more important than ever.

Players aiming to obtain Diablo 4 Gold through Killstreaks won't choose this class. Other players might have already swept everything away before you're even slowly maintaining your Killstreak rewards.

Tier D: Rogue

This is probably the lowest ranking Rogue has ever received. Normally, Rogue is ranked in the upper-middle of the class rankings. However, in Season 12, aside from decent leveling skills like Flurry and Dance of Knives, Rogues have very limited options once they reach level 60. If you want to speed farming, Death Trap is your best choice, but its damage is low and insufficient for boss fights and Pit pushing.

Basically, at that stage, your only reliable option might be Heartseeker. Unfortunately, this requires a very high skill ceiling, and many people don't like this playstyle. In fact, Heartseeker is the only Rogue build that can achieve the required DPS.

Tier C: Druid

Druid is arguably one of the slowest leveling classes. From levels 1 to 60, your leveling speed will lag behind most other classes.

Your best options are Lightning Storm, Pulverize, or Companion. After level 60, you'll basically only have Pulverize. It's a very powerful build, but the leveling speed is not fast.

Therefore, if you're aiming for speed farming, Cataclysm is your best choice. Pulverize can't compete with other classes, and Cataclysm's damage isn't sufficient for any challenge outside of speed farming content.

Tier B: Sorcerer

Before level 60, you have some decent options: Crackling Energy and Hydra. But once you reach level 60, it's basically just Crackling Energy. Frankly, if you want speed farming, you can use Hydra indefinitely.

However, for boss fights, Crackling Energy might be the only Sorcerer build you'll want to use. This skill truly is the king of Sorcerer builds; it's not slow but powerful like Druid's Pulverize. So Sorcerer is a relatively good build.

Tier A: Barbarian, Spiritborn

Among Tier A, Barbarian is one of the slowest leveling classes. While leveling from 1 to 60 is very difficult, its leveling speed is second only to Druid. Hammer of Ancients or Upheaval are the best choices for Barbarian leveling.

However, once you enter the late game, Barbarians have many good options in terms of builds. For speed farming, Earthquake is definitely the best choice. It's the only skill that can keep up with the speed of other classes.

But besides speed farming, Barbarians also have many other options for challenging bosses or pushing through dungeons, such as Ancient Hammer, Thrust, Slam, Powerful Throw, and Earthquake. These are all very powerful boss-fighting skills. As for Pit pushing, you can choose Earthquake, Hammer of Ancients, Lunging Strike, or Bash.

Among A-tier builds is Spiritborn, which can be leveled up using Evasion. Evasion builds are still one of the best and fastest leveling builds in the game, especially suitable for fast mob farming. While Evasion builds aren't the highest damage builds, they still perform well in Pit pushing. They are also quite good against bosses, but Crushing Hand is even better.

Tier S: Paladin

Despite a significant nerf, Paladin remains in this tier, albeit downgraded from S+to S.

Paladin's criteria for S-tier classes: Each category offers multiple excellent builds. You can choose Shield Charge, Shield of Retribution, Judgement, or Blessed Hammer. Whether for speed farming or boss fights, Paladin has many options.

As for pushing the pit, Paladin still seems to be the strongest pit-pushing class. Although its strength has decreased, it still has a good chance of ranking first.

Ideally, every class should be S-tier. Each class should have multiple builds and perform well in all aspects of the game, like Paladin.

This concludes this article about Diablo 4 season 12. Do you think this ranking is reasonable? We hope this ranking is helpful and share your thoughts.
