Loot Filter & Skill Tree Overhaul is Here | Diablo 4 Season 13 Season of Reckoning is about to Change Everything
Players! According to the latest Diablo 4 developer livestream, we've received some astounding new information - details that are sure to exceed everyone's expectations. Although we haven't seen the full scope of Skill Tree just yet, we can still piece together a comprehensive overview of all the new details revealed during this announcement by sifting through the wealth of scattered information available.
Launch Date
Attention all players! Diablo 4 Season 13 - Season of Reckoning - will launch simultaneously with the Lord of Hatred expansion on April 27, 2026, at 4:30 PM PDT!
Don't worry about missing out on this massive update because of time zone differences; you can consult the global release map to confirm the exact launch time for your region, ensuring you don't fall behind the pack.
You can also download the patch files right now, allowing you to jump straight into the action the moment the new season officially goes live.
For Expansion Pack Owners
If you already own the expansion, you'll be able to start playing as the two new classes - Warlock and Paladin - the moment the Season of Reckoning launches. We know that for many players, Paladin is still an unfamiliar entity that you haven't had the chance to try out yet. Don't worry - you'll be able to experience it very soon!

Additionally, all the resources and features you need will be centralized in a new region: Skovos. This will serve as the core hub for all your endgame content.
War Plans
This is a deeply customizable endgame system where you can upgrade your War Plans by completing various activities, thereby unlocking even more powerful Affixes.
For instance, opening chests during Helltides now carries a chance to summon Grigoire's Knights, who will drop their specific gear directly upon defeat. Furthermore, you can actively increase the difficulty of Lair Bosses to earn better rewards - scaling up to a maximum Torment 12 difficulty, which is equivalent to Pit Tier 100.
Moreover, you can now directly access any endgame activity without needing the corresponding key.
Fishing System
In truth, Fishing system serves primarily as a casual, cosmetic feature within the game. The various types of fish you catch can be traded with others, allowing you to enrich your personal collection.
Horadric Cube
Horadric Cube allows you to customize any Legendary item - and even transform White quality gear directly into Unique items, while simultaneously boosting the potency of their special effects. It can also be used to craft new types of Gems, another new addition to the game.
Base Updates - Free for All Players
Skill Tree Rework
The way skills are modified for all classes has been completely overhauled; players who own Lord of Hatred will have access to even more customization options.
Loot Filter System
With the Loot Filter system, you can configure your game to display only those Diablo 4 items possessing specific affixes - regardless of their color or quality. Given that Lord of Hatred allows blue and yellow items to be upgraded into powerful Unique items via Horadric Cube, Loot Filter system has become an absolutely essential tool.
Level and Item Adjustments
The level cap has been raised to 70, and all items now feature an Item Power of 900. Eternal Realm characters will need to level up further and re-farm their gear to reach these new thresholds.
New Torment 12
The newly introduced Torment 12 difficulty is roughly equivalent to Pit Tier 100. Additionally, the experience point yield across the difficulty spectrum - specifically from Torment 5 through Torment 12 - has been approximately doubled.
Damage Mechanics Rework
Additive damage bonuses found on gear now stack additively rather than multiplicatively. For example, equipping two items that each grant +25% Critical Strike Damage will result in a combined total of +50% Critical Strike Damage.
Furthermore, most additive damage bonuses found on Paragon Board and Glyphs have been halved. Consequently, actual damage numbers will not skyrocket quite as dramatically as a purely multiplicative system might suggest; however, players may still discover incredibly powerful builds through unique and unconventional gear combinations.
Unique and Mythic Items
These items can now be imprinted with Tempered affixes. Additionally, the affixes on Unique items are no longer fixed but are instead randomly generated, allowing players to farm for Unique items that are perfectly tailored to their specific builds. Players can also now craft Unique items directly from white quality gear using Horadric Cube.
Map Functionality Enhancements
The game now features a map overlay with adjustable transparency, color schemes, and zoom levels. A new pathfinding guideline has also been added, providing automatic navigation to any designated waypoint.
Season of Reckoning
Because of the sheer scope of Lord of Hatred expansion updates, this season will not introduce any additional seasonal gameplay mechanics. Instead, it focuses solely on the new Seasonal Progression track and its associated rewards.
Players can advance through up to nine tiers of rewards, including 14 Resplendent Sparks, 12 Skill Points, vast quantities of crafting materials, Mount Trophies, and many other generous bonuses.
Players will soon be able to get a full look at everything the new season has to offer. Don't miss the launch date!
