Is It Wise To Build A Deep Desert Base For A Single Player In Dune Awakening?

When I was playing Dune: Awakening, I toiled away until I built my first Deep Desert Base, only to realize how much time and resources I’d wasted.

Farming in Deep Desert as a single player is a real hassle. Every time you venture out, you risk losing all your loot, and each trip takes a long time, with no guarantee of a positive outcome.

Why Is Solo Deep Desert Farming Not Worth It?

I’ve experienced this several times, feeling incredibly down when all my hard-earned resources are gone. And after farming, I have to trek back to the main base in Hagga Basin, which is another drain on time and energy.

Without a Deep Desert Base, simply filling up an Assault Ornithopter with storage just once doesn’t feel worth it.

But once I built my own base, it suddenly clicked: I realized the effort wasn’t necessary. Is It Wise To Build A Deep Desert Base For A Single Player In Dune Awakening?

I already have a Medium Spice Refinery in Hagga Basin, and I have all the materials needed to craft Spice Melange and Plastanium Ingots. Why rebuild all of this in the Desert every week?

But for an active guild, the large-scale construction of a Desert Base makes perfect sense. I’ve seen entire rock structures filled with players working together, farming, storing, and refining. Strength in numbers, day-to-day operations can be maintained smoothly.

But how can we solo players afford such resources? We lack the time and manpower, and acquiring Dune Awakening Materials often requires more effort than guild members, which is incredibly daunting.

How Can Solo Players Easily Build A Base?

First, a Desert Base is essential for solo players, but you don’t need to pursue high-resource buildings. All we really need is a simple base with room for an Ornithopter and a Medium Storage Container. We don’t even need a Medium Container; just enough to store our Spice Sand gear, weapons, and collected materials.

The problem is that the round trip is too time-consuming. So, why not stay in Deep Desert and stockpile as much Spice Sand as possible? Then, when you’re ready to leave, bring everything back to the main base for refining.

Personally, I keep a dedicated storage chest where I store Spice Melange, Aluminum, Steel, Silicone Blocks, and more. It’s so convenient that everything I need is there when I set off.

One important thing to note is that when crafting items, unless you’re in Deep Desert, the game will use the supplies stored in your base, regardless of where they’re stored.

So, if you store Deep Desert-specific supplies in Hagga Basin, you might accidentally run out, which requires constant monitoring and protection of those supplies, which can be quite frustrating.

I originally joined a guild, hoping to play together, but considering other players’ schedules and online times, sometimes it’s hard to get everyone together when I want to go out in a group.

This is especially problematic if you have a Sandcrawler and Carrier. You need someone to guard them, and you need to go out in a group to avoid being attacked.

If you’re daring enough, solo players can also create their own Sandcrawler and Carrier to farm Spice Fields. Some players have posted videos of this online, but it’s really crazy.

When using a Sandcrawler and Carrier, be sure to store Ornithopter in Vehicle Backup Tool, as using a Sandcrawler in large Spice Fields can easily lead to attacks.

After all, a Sandcrawler can carry 50,000 Spice Sand. Once you start collecting, grandfather worms will quickly appear and consume the entire Spice Field. This will affect other players’ ability to collect spice, and you’ll likely be attacked by other players.

All I’ve said is to tell you that many people, myself included, have been wasting time and energy on useless projects. While building a Deep Desert Base and unleashing your might is fine for guilds, for solo players, such large-scale construction simply can’t be sustained for long.

Solo players, it’s time to rethink your Deep Desert Base construction in Dune: Awakening. Stop blindly following trends and find your own unique playstyle. That way, you can more easily survive in this desert, right?
