Helldivers 2 Castellan's Creed Legendary Warbond and Illuminate Leaks | New Weapons, Armor, Missions, and Enemies
Helldivers 2's legendary crossover with Warhammer 40K has begun, and Warhammer 40K Castellan's Creed Legendary Warbond is bringing classic Astra Militarum cosmetics to Helldivers.
Hopefully, Super Earth and Imperium of Man can get along. Meanwhile, August 12 will also bring a major update. According to leaks, Illuminate are likely to be the ones causing trouble this time, and they may bring several new units with them. Let's take a look at Warbond and the leaked content.

Warhammer 40K Castellan's Creed Legendary Warbond
Armor
Even the most legendary Helldivers cannot compare with Space Marines of Imperium of Man, but Astra Militarum and Helldivers, who fill every frontline across the galaxy, are surprisingly similar.
The armor design appears to draw inspiration from Cadian Kasrkin, one of the most famous elite forces within Imperial Guard of Warhammer 40K. Kasrkin are best known for their advanced equipment, rigorous training, and frequent deployment on extremely dangerous missions.
On the final armor sets, the worn textures on the helmets and armor plates are clearly visible, delivering exactly the kind of battle-worn appearance players have been hoping for.
This is possibly one of the best Legendary Warbonds available, and it is highly recommended that you buy Helldivers 2 Super Credits at IGGM.com and unlock it as soon as possible.
Weapons
Helldivers 2 development team specifically pointed out that Bolt Pistol and Meltagun are iconic weapons in Warhammer universe. They have appeared throughout various forms of artwork and literature for a long time, so considerable effort was made to ensure that both their appearance and handling feel authentic.
40-K Meltagun
Meltagun demonstrates astonishing killing efficiency in the preview. When facing a full-health Charger, the weapon begins by targeting its leg before quickly moving toward the head. Within an extremely short period, it breaks through the weak point and melts Charger's head away.
The entire process takes barely a second or two, almost instantly vaporizing the target. This performance is far beyond expectations and suggests that Meltagun has extremely high sustained damage, making it particularly effective against heavily armored units.
Meltagun uses a Thermal Capacitor as its power source, so its effective range is limited to close and medium distances, preventing it from functioning as a long-range sniper weapon. Players who prefer fighting from a distance will still need to pair it with other Support Weapons.
P-40-K Bolt Pistol
P-40-K Bolt Pistol has extremely powerful recoil. Its projectiles produce a noticeable AoE explosion upon impact and also deliver an exceptionally strong Stagger effect.
A single shot to an enemy's back is enough to knock it directly to the ground. The weapon has Heavy Penetration, while its explosion radius can also inflict additional damage on nearby enemies.
G-40-K Meltamine
Meltamine is the most distinctive piece of equipment in this Warbond because it is the first mine-type weapon to appear in Helldivers 2. In the preview, a Hulk steps on the mine and is almost instantly blown in half upon contact.
Its damage is powerful enough to instantly eliminate heavily armored units, making it a potential competitor to the existing G-123 Thermite. However, limitation of a mine is that players must predict the enemy's path and deploy it in a fixed location, making it less flexible and mobile than a grenade.
Meltamine could be more practical against Automatons because the movement paths of units such as Hulks are relatively predictable.
R-40-K Hot-Shot Marksman Rifle
Marksman Rifle has a relatively high rate of fire, and its scope design is also quite distinctive. The development team has kept the weapon's specific statistics under wraps, but its Ergonomics may be better than those of existing precision rifles, potentially making it more competitive. Its actual performance in combat will need to be verified after release.
Leaked Content
Based on the current direction of Helldivers 2 storyline, all signs point toward Illuminate. The purple color palette in the trailer already makes this connection quite obvious. Meanwhile, some leaked information reveals new enemies and new missions, although they may not all launch at the same time.
Neutralize Anomalous Artifacts
Helldivers 2 data miners have discovered a new mission type called Neutralize Anomalous Artifacts. This mission contains four new objective types, although some of them are still in development.
Two of the objectives are named Dismantle Warp Gateway and Destroy Laser Obelisk. The mission is still in its early stages, and it is expected to need another month to a month and a half before officially launching.
Illuminate Enemies
According to the leaked information, Illuminate will introduce several new enemy types, although their specific names are currently unknown.
Tier 2 Tripods
These units have enhanced armor that can withstand attacks from standard Tripods and may possess the ability to unleash concentrated energy shockwaves powerful enough to instantly vaporize an entire squad. Even more dangerously, these enemies will trigger an explosion when destroyed, potentially affecting anyone who gets too close.
Illuminate Adepts
These enemies can manipulate arcane energy, distort reality, interfere with allied electronics, and unleash disintegration energy waves capable of tearing through flesh and metal.
Illuminate Mages
These mysterious spellcasters can summon lesser demons and otherworldly creatures, making them even more terrifying than Automatons and Terminids players have faced before.
These enemies will force Helldivers to adjust their traditional tactics, and the existing arsenal may struggle to deal with them. New Warbonds and equipment will almost certainly be introduced in the future to help players confront these threats.
Judging from the leaked Helldivers 2 content, many powerful enemies are still waiting on the frontlines of our fight for democracy. However, the official team will also release more Warbonds to strengthen players. If both sides experience power inflation at the same time, that should still be acceptable.
