WoW TBC Classic Anniversary Phase 2 Tempest Keep full Guide: Every Boss Strategy & Must-Know Mechanics!
Dear WoW TBC players, the second phase of The Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary has recently been released, bringing with it a new 25-player raid zone, Tempest Keep.
Tempest Keep consists of four bosses that must be defeated in sequence; none can be missed.
This article will guide you on how to complete this raid with your team. It will also show you what you should do when challenging Tempest Keep with your team, allowing you to play a greater role in the group and maximize your efficiency.
Al'ar
Al'ar will be the first boss you encounter upon entering the raid. It is a phoenix that respawns during the fight, so your team will typically need more tanks than usual.

Phase 1
Your team's first task is to position three tanks on the small platforms to the east, west, and north of the room.
Players on the platform need to position themselves at the edge to ensure teammates below can damage Al'ar and healers can heal melee DPS and tanks.
Ranged classes need to stand in the center of the room to deal as much damage as possible to Al'ar. Melee classes should stand at the bottom of the ramp, ready to deal with Ember of Al'ar.
During the fight, ensure a tank is always ready to pull Al'ar. When Al'ar changes position, an Ember of Al'ar will spawn. The tank that previously pulled Al'ar needs to jump down and pull Ember of Al'ar again to prevent it from damaging other players.
Flame Quills are an ability all tanks need to avoid. Make sure to jump off the platform every time a Flame Quill occurs, repeating this process until Al'ar is killed for the first time.
Phase 2
When your team kills Al'ar, triggering Phase Two, all tanks need to move to the center of the room and take turns pulling Al'ar.
When a tank has Melt Armor effect, they are very vulnerable to death. In this case, another tank needs to taunt Al'ar to take over the previous tank's position.
Flame Patch is an ability that everyone needs to avoid. Spread out to reduce the overall damage taken by the raid. As long as the healers in the raid can act in time, there usually won't be too much of a problem.
By paying attention to its unique skill mechanics and responding correctly, Al'ar can be easily defeated. As the first boss of Tempest Keep, Al'ar drops some very powerful equipment and gold, making it worthwhile for your team to challenge it repeatedly.
Void Reaver
As the second boss of Tempest Keep, Void Reaver is even considered one of the easier raid bosses in WoW. It drops some armor and class-specific trinkets.
Basically, all you need to do is have the tank lead the entire raid into the room simultaneously, and then ensure that at least three tanks can maintain Void Reaver threat at all times.
By positioning melee DPS, ranged DPS, and healers behind Void Reaver and maintaining continuous attack and healing, Void Reaver can be easily defeated.
Note that Arcane Orb might cause a slight challenge, but it's also easily managed. Simply position two hunters at opposite ends of the raid.
When Arcane Orb flies towards the hunters, dodge it and then return to your original position to prevent others from being affected.
Just be mindful of your positioning at all times, ensuring that everyone except the tank is behind Void Reaver, and this boss can be easily defeated.
High Astromancer Solarian
High Astromancer Solarian is the third boss in Tempest Keep. It will stay in the middle of your raid group and randomly cast Arcane Missiles on your teammates.
Phase 1
The best strategy for the first phase of this WoW TBC boss is to have all ranged DPS stand together and then spread out when Wrath of the Astromancer is triggered. This minimizes raid casualties.
Other team members can focus on dealing damage without worrying about anything else. The first phase lasts less than a minute before the second phase begins.
Phase 2
Pay attention to Ads spawned by Solarian and the two Solarium Priests.
Tanks need to hold Ads, and your team should use AoE abilities to clear them. The focus is on the two Solarium Priests; melee classes should prioritize attacking them. After clearing them, you will return to the first phase, and the cycle will repeat until Solarian's health reaches 20%.
Phase 3
Once you've reduced Solarian's health to 20%, the fight will enter the third phase. Then Solarian will transform into a Voidwalker and unleash a large-area fear effect, requiring your Priests and Shamans to react promptly.
Overall, High Astromancer Solarian isn't particularly difficult.
Kael'thas Sunstrider
This is one of the most challenging bosses in WoW TBC Classic to date. Your team needs to be very familiar with its mechanics and coordinate to react promptly in order to successfully defeat it.
As the final boss of Tempest Keep, its rewards are extremely generous and powerful. In addition to the regular WoW TBC Classic Anniversary gold, it will guarantee a drop of Verdant Sphere, as well as the very familiar Ashes of Al'ar, one of the most popular flying mounts in WoW.
This will be a long fight, so your team needs to be prepared.
Phase 1
First, four mini-bosses will appear in sequence.
Thaladred the Darkener
It will randomly lock onto a player and slowly move towards them, instantly killing them upon contact. However, it's not particularly threatening; as long as melee classes don't attack it, it generally won't catch up.
Lord Sanguinar
Lord Sanguinar's only mechanic is to fear players. Tanks needs to lure it into a corner. At this point, all other team members need to concentrate their fire and quickly eliminate it. Applying Fear Ward to tanks will alleviate their burden. Tremor Totem also provides significant help.
Grand Astromancer Capernian
You need a warlock to use Searing Pain to draw its aggro. Once enough aggro is generated, other ranged classes can freely deal damage.
Master Engineer Telonicus
Its only ability is to throw bombs, stunning players. You need a tank to bring it next to Lord Sanguinar and then kill it.
Phase 2
Kael'thas Sunstrider will summon many weapons at the room entrance. Then, a tank needs to pull out Devastation, keeping it away from the other members. Next, a hunter needs to hold Netherstrand Longbow's threat, making it face away from the others.
Then, work together to destroy the remaining weapons, then Netherstrand Longbow, and finally Devastation. Then, you will enter Phase Three.
Phase 3
You need to immediately pick up the weapons on the ground, choosing them according to your class and role. All the enemies from Phase One will then revive simultaneously. Your team must deal with all four enemies at once and defeat them again in the same manner.
Phase 4
Regardless of whether you defeated the enemies from Phase Three, Kael'thas Sunstrider will join the fight after three minutes. Have your tank immediately engage him, and have others interrupt his Fireballs.
Make sure all Fireballs are interrupted. Their damage can instantly kill your tank. Meanwhile, maintain all your damage output and use the weapons you picked up earlier to flexibly deal with his other attacks.
Al'ar will reappear in this phase. Someone needs to lure it to the edge of the battlefield and kill it.
Phase 5
When Kael'thas Sunstrider's health drops to around 50%, you and your teammates can breathe a sigh of relief, as you've essentially succeeded. Now all you need to do is deal with his Gravity Lapse. Once Gravity Lapse ends, focus your firepower on him and defeat him completely.
This concludes the entire WoW BCC Tempest Keep raid. Overall, this raid isn't particularly difficult; it simply requires memorizing several mechanics and surviving long enough to defeat Kael'thas Sunstrider. Hopefully, this article has been helpful.
