As League of Legends enters 2025, the game also brings patch 15.1 to players. This patch brings huge changes to the entire Summoner’s Rift, and both ranked players and casual players will be affected by these changes.

Patch 15.1 is based on the theme of Noxus, which changes the style of the entire Summoner’s Rift. With this patch, the appearance of the map is adjusted first, some Noxus flags are added, and the appearance of Baron Nashor is modified. The new wild monster Atakhan is introduced to players, and the appearance of the turrets is completely changed. At the same time, players will be able to experience new music in the game!

The content of patch 15.1 will be described in detail below.

Map

The map of Noxus season has been completely renewed, but the main impact on players is the change of map mechanism.

LOL Update 15.1 Patch Brings Major Changes To Players

Atakhan

Atakhan will spawn in the river near the top or bottom lane at the 20th minute. The specific location depends on which lane has a fierce battle before the 14th minute. If there are a lot of deaths in the top lane, Atakhan will appear near the top river. If there are no kills in either lane, the damage done to the hero will be used to determine the damage.

When Atakhan appears, the terrain will be slightly changed to form a circular area. Atakhan will leave a Blood Rose behind, which can be collected to increase the power of you and your teammates permanently and gain experience.

Players will encounter two versions of Atakhan in the game, and the pattern of their appearance depends on the intensity of the battle on Summoner’s Rift. The two versions of Atakhan have different abilities and provide different benefits.

Ruinous Atakhan will appear in games with intense fighting. The opponent who gives the final blow to Ruinous Atakhan will receive more Bloody Petals and spawn many Blood Roses at the same time.

Voracious Atakhan will appear in games at a slower pace of the game, and it will provide the following benefits to players:

  • If your hero is killed within three minutes, it will stop in place for 5.5 seconds, and then teleport back to the spawn point of your team. The enemy who killed your will earn 100 gold and a Bloody Petal.
  • Your team now permanently gains 40 extra gold for killing an enemy hero.
  • If your entire team participates in a kill, the entire team will receive an additional 200 gold.

Timer Adjustments

The timers have been slightly adjusted in Patch 15.1. Rift Herald will spawn at 16 minutes, Atakhan at 20 minutes, and Baron Nashor at 25 minutes.

Turrets

  • Turrets have had their defense reduced to 50%.
  • Nexus turrets will respawn after 3 minutes after being destroyed.
  • Turrets now deal 50% more damage per shot.
  • The time that turrets make more damage per shot from 3 seconds to 5 seconds.

This means turrets are now more of a threat, and it’s now more risky to go over a turret and kill an enemy hero.

Minions

  • Increased armor and health of melee minions
  • First cannon minion now appears in the 4th wave of minions
  • Experience range of minions increased from 1400 to 1500
  • Super minions nerfed
  • Gold now starts spawning at 1 minute 40 seconds

Items

Players now need to gain Feats of Strength in the game to expand their advantage. When you complete any two of the following three goals, you can upgrade your team’s boots:

  • First blood,
  • First tower
  • First to kill 3 epic monsters

After your team completes the above two goals, your team will gain Feats of Strength. This buff will only take effect after you have two legendary items, and the player’s shoes will be upgraded:

  • Triumphant Berserker’s Greaves: Increase Attack Speed
  • Triumphant Ionian Boots of Lucidity: Increase 5 Haste
  • Triumphant Sorcerer’s Shoes: Increase 4 Magic Penetration
  • Triumphant Plated Steelcaps: Increase 5 Armor
  • Triumphant Mercury’s Treads: Increase 5 Magic Resistance
  • Triumphant Boots of Swiftness: Increase 5 Movement Speed
  • Triumphant Synchronized Souls: Increase 5 Movement Speed

Runes

Patch 15.1 makes some adjustments to the rune system, and some runes have been very powerful in testing.

  • Sorcerer Runes Nullifying Orb is now removed and replaced with Axiom Arcanist. Your ultimate skill has a 7% lower cooldown and 12% more power.
  • All vision-based Domination Runes have been removed and replaced.
  • Sixth Sense: Automatically track unseen wards that are not seen by your team. Also reveals this ward for 10 seconds at level 11. CD: 300 seconds (melee) / 360 seconds (ranged)
  • Grisly Mementos Collect: After knocking down a hero, you gain 1 memento. Each memento adds 4 trinket ability haste to you. Up to 25 stacks.
  • Deep Ward: When your Ward is in the enemy jungle, your Deep Ward has +1 health and 30 to 45 seconds of duration, increased duration
  • Precision Runes Conqueror DoT stack time adjusted from 5 seconds to 4 seconds.

Summoner Spells

Summoner Spells mainly make a big adjustment to Teleport. Now your character will sprint to the target’s location. The farther away from the target, the longer the flight time. Channel time reduced from 4 seconds to 3 seconds. Base cooldown reduced from 6 minutes to 5 minutes.

The above are some of the major changes in League of Legends 15.1. These changes will undoubtedly have a huge impact on the player’s gaming experience. Now you have to take advantage in the early stages, so the competition between players may be more intense than in previous seasons. Of course, it will take some time for players to get familiar with the changes in this season. I hope all LOL players will have fun playing patch 15.1.
