Is R-36 Eruptor Now The Most Worthwhile Weapon In Helldivers 2?

At least one of the latest patches provides new upgrades to a competitive weapon, R-36 Eruptor.

What Enhancements Has R-36 Eruptor Received?

For too long, R-36 Eruptor has been easily replaced by the more versatile explosive crossbow, but thanks to a new patch, R-36 Eruptor now has a full second longer range projectile life, up from 0.7 seconds previously. While this change may not seem like much at first glance, it means R-36 Eruptor’s armor penetration has been increased from Medium (3) to Heavy (4), which is enough for most fights.

R-36 Eruptor’s Current Superiority

An extremely useful tool, the fully upgraded R-36 Eruptor now performs even better against heavily armored elite foes, allowing it to take down tier 4 armored enemies like Termanid Charger and Automaton Hulk, as well as many more powerful opponents.

It is worth noting, however, that while this type of weapon enhancement brings some benefits, it also brings some new difficulties to Illuminate and Automaton fronts, most notably Automatons’ heavily armored transport ships, and Illuminate’s shielded warp ships, which may bring more tough shooting practice to the new and improved R-36 Eruptor.
